Position: Custodian for the 2025/2026 School year

QUALFICATIONS: 1. Must be physically capable and willing to perform required tasks in custodial and general maintenance;
2. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds to head level, when required;
3. Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend and walk without limitations;
4. Must possess acceptable attitude(s) towards staff, students and parents;
5. Must demonstrate dedication to job performance and accept direction and guidance from supervisory personnel;
6. Must be consistent in monitoring work schedules and in performance of tasks;
7. Must have a current New Mexico Driver’s License;
8. Must be literate;
9. Must be able to communicate well;
10. Must know math computations skills.
11. General training and experience in construction, plumbing & electrical work.

Superintendent of Schools – General Supervisor

JOB GOAL: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place conducive to learning as well as assist in maintaining District Buildings/Grounds.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in keeping buildings and premises, including sidewalks, drive ways and play areas neat and clean as needed.
2. Assist in implementing a high frequency of operation plan provided by the immediate supervisor as needed.
3. As needed, regulate heat, ventilation and air conditioning systems to provide temperature appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electricity.
4. Assist in removing snow from sidewalks, driveways, parking areas and steps during inclement weather.
5. Monitor to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
6. Assist with sweeping and mopping classrooms and dust furniture.
7. Assist in cleaning corridors when conditions require it before and after school.
8. As needed, assist with cleaning all windows on both the inside and outside.
9. As needed keep the grounds free from rubbish.
10. As needed, perform such yard keeping chores as grass cutting, tree trimming, and the like, as needed to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
11. As needed keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
12. Address building repairs as needed.
13. Report major repairs needed promptly to the maintenance supervisor.
14. Maintain on a regular schedule all motors and other mechanical equipment requiring scheduled servicing.
15. Report immediately to the immediate supervisor any damage to school property.
16. Remain on the school premises during school hours and during non school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his/her attendance is required by supervisor.
17. Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the buildings as needed and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off.
18. Pick up ample cleaning supplies and/or materials.
19. Implement an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep and repair.
20. Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
21. Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and daily disposal of trash, rubbish and waste.
22. Conduct daily inspection and test of all electrical installations, water well, water connections, pilots on heaters, to ensure their working and safety condition.
23. Comply with OSHA and Maintenance Preventive Policies as adopted by the Board of Education.
24. Attend board meetings as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor or Superintendent.
25. Respond to properly initiated work orders on priority basis and maintain district-wide physical plant(s)
26. Examine school buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance, inclusive of mechanical repairs or replacements.
27. Order materials as need, and make recommendations of supplies and equipment for purchase.
28. Comply with EPA Regulations regarding requirement on water meter(s); reading meters, and water treatment(s) and maintain the quality of water for the school district.
29. Address all PSFA requirements in relation to School-Dude.
30. Perform other assigned tasks required by the Maintenance Supervisor or Superintendent.
